Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently revealed that she faced a casting couch incident in the southern film industry.
The concept of casting couch is the most controversial in the cinema world, many celebs at some point of time have faced this issue wherein they were asked to compromise to get an opportunity in the world cinema. The latest reports suggest that the Dangal movie actress Fatima Sana Shaikh was also a victim of the casting couch.
Fatima Sana Shaikh in her recent interview revealed that in her early days she was once asked to compromise to get a role in the southern industry. Fatima Sana Shaikh said,”He asked me, ‘You will be ready to do everything, right?’ I told him that I will be working hard and will do what is required for the role, but he kept saying that, and I played dumb because I wanted to see how low can he get“.
Fatima Sana Shaikh shared her experience of Hyderabad wherein she thought that firstly grabbing a south movie will boost her career and it will become easier for her to get roles in Bollywood. Fatima disclosed that the producers were indirectly asking for inappropriate commitments, saying things like “You have to meet new people” and ” You have to do this and that”, the intentions of the producers were indirectly pointing towards the casting couch.
Fatima further revealed that not all people in the industry behave in such a way but still some individuals are present who are conducting such practices in the film fraternity and she disclosed that many of the famous and successful people in the industry had faced such issues. Fatima Sana Shaikh further revealed that she felt disappointed when she gets to hear about such incidents.
