Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavitra Gowda retain the bail as the Supreme Court of India rejects the appeal of cancellation of bail in the Renukaswamy muder case.

The High Court of Karnataka state recently granted the bail to the Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavitra Gowda in the Renukaswamy muder case and further the state government of Karnataka challenged the high court’s decision and went to supreme court for cancelling the bail permissions granted to the actor. Today on 24th January, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal made by the Government of Karnataka.
In the supreme court, Justice Pardiwala refused to cancel the bail granted to Darshan and Pavitra Gowda in the Renukaswamy murder case, the court explained that cancelling the bail at this stage will not be appropriate but the court assured the Government of Karnataka thatĀ the court will look in the appeal against actor Darshan and will send him notice.
Advocate Siddharth Luthra represented the Karnataka State Government and he argued in the supreme court that the High Court has unfairly dismissed the case against Darshan and Pavitra Gowda and granted them bail and this decision may set the wrong example for the similar cases. The supreme court responded to the state advocate by saying that the bail order for Darshan and others should not be used as an example to grant bail to the accused, further SC stated that new bail requests should be granted based on the facts of the case.
